Medical Disclaimer

This Disclaimer defines the boundary of what Veloris (the “Platform”) is. It is the most important document in this set: where anything in the Terms of Service, the AI Usage Policy, our marketing pages or the Platform itself could be read as inconsistent with it, this Disclaimer prevails.

You must acknowledge it before your first AI session. We record which version you accepted and when; if we revise it materially you will be asked to acknowledge the new version.

1. The Platform is for education and examination preparation only

Veloris exists to help medical students, residents and physicians learn and revise: to work through examination-style questions, sit timed mock exams, drill flashcards, and discuss material with an AI tutor for study purposes.

Every piece of content on the Platform — questions, explanations, AI responses, study plans, analytics — is produced for that purpose and no other. Clinical-sounding material is examination material. A vignette describing a patient presentation is a teaching artefact, not a case.

2. It is not a medical device

The Platform is not a medical device and has not been submitted to, cleared, approved, certified or registered by any regulator, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, or any EU notified body under the Medical Device Regulation. It carries no CE or UKCA marking and has not been assessed under any medical device conformity procedure.

It is not clinical decision support software, not a diagnostic aid, not a triage tool, and not a clinical reference intended for use at the point of care. It must not be deployed in any clinical workflow.

3. It does not diagnose

The Platform does not diagnose any person. It does not evaluate, assess, or form a clinical impression about you, a patient under your care, or anyone else.

Differential diagnosis appears on the Platform as an educational exercise applied to hypothetical and textbook cases. That is a teaching method. It is not the Platform performing diagnosis, and its output has no diagnostic validity for a real individual.

4. It does not provide treatment advice

The Platform does not prescribe, recommend, or provide treatment plans, dosing, or management advice for any real patient. Pharmacology is discussed at the level of mechanism, class, general indication and contraindication, because that is what examinations test. Nothing on the Platform is a therapeutic recommendation.

Do not use a dose, regimen, interaction or protocol described on the Platform to guide care. Verify against a current formulary, your institution’s protocols, and the applicable clinical guideline.

5. It does not replace a licensed medical professional

Nothing here substitutes for a qualified clinician’s judgement, for supervision, for a consultation, or for a physician–patient relationship. Using the Platform creates no such relationship between you and us, and none between any patient and us.

If you are not a medical professional and are looking for information about your own health or someone else’s: this is the wrong service. Consult a qualified clinician. Nothing on this Platform is medical advice to you.

6. AI responses can be wrong

AI-generated content on this Platform can be incomplete, out of date, internally inconsistent, or simply incorrect. Language models produce fluent and confident prose regardless of whether the underlying content is right, and fluency is not a signal of accuracy.

Specifically, an AI response may:

• state a fabricated fact, statistic, dose or threshold with complete confidence;
• cite a study, guideline or textbook chapter that does not exist, or misattribute a real one;
• reflect guidance that has since been superseded;
• be correct for one population, jurisdiction or examination board and wrong for another;
• reproduce an examination answer key that is itself out of step with current practice.

Verify anything that matters against a primary source before you rely on it — for an examination and, far more importantly, for anything touching real care. The AI Usage Policy covers the models we use and their limitations in more detail.

Human-authored content on the Platform is reviewed before publication, but it is written for teaching and can also contain errors or become dated. If you find one, tell us at support@veloris.health.

7. You remain responsible for every clinical decision

If you are a practising clinician or a trainee under supervision, you carry full professional and legal responsibility for your decisions. Reading something on this Platform transfers none of that responsibility to us and provides no defence to a claim of clinical negligence.

You are responsible for:

• verifying any clinically relevant information against authoritative sources;
• applying your own training, judgement and institutional protocols;
• seeking supervision or specialist input where appropriate;
• complying with the standards of your licensing body and employer;
• keeping patient information out of this Platform entirely.

8. Do not submit real patient information

Never enter identifiable patient information into the Platform — not in a tutor message, not in an uploaded file, not in a credential document, not anywhere.

An automated safety classifier refuses queries that appear to concern a real patient, and blocked attempts are logged. That classifier is a safeguard and can be wrong in both directions: it may refuse a legitimate examination vignette, and it may fail to catch a real case described in careful language. It is not a permission system. The obligation not to submit patient data is yours, and submitting it may breach your professional duty of confidentiality and applicable data protection law.

If a message describes a real patient rather than a hypothetical, rephrase it as a general educational question — or take it to a colleague or supervisor, which is where it belongs.

9. Emergencies

The Platform is not monitored in real time, has no clinician on call, and is not capable of responding to an emergency. Nothing on it should ever be used for time-critical care.

For a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services: 911 in the United States, 999 or 112 in the UK and Ireland, or your local emergency number.

If you are in crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself, please contact a crisis service: 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, United States), 116 123 (Samaritans, UK and Ireland), or your local emergency number. The AI tutor is not a mental health service.

10. Scope of the Platform

The Platform is limited to medical and healthcare education. The AI tutor declines requests outside that scope, and it will not provide content that could facilitate harm to a real person regardless of how the request is framed — including academic, forensic, fictional or “hypothetical” framing. 11. No warranty; limitation of liability

The Platform and everything on it are provided “as is”, without warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for any purpose. We do not warrant that using it will improve your examination results or your clinical performance.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or harm arising from a clinical decision, diagnosis, treatment or examination outcome influenced by content obtained from the Platform. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. The full limitation is in section 13 of the Terms of Service.

12. Your acknowledgement

By using the Platform you confirm that you understand and accept that:

1. Veloris is an educational platform for examination preparation and study;
2. it is not a medical device and has no regulatory clearance or approval;
3. it does not diagnose any person;
4. it does not provide treatment, prescribing or management advice for any real patient;
5. it does not replace a licensed medical professional, supervision, or clinical judgement;
6. AI responses may contain errors, including confidently stated fabrications;
7. you remain solely responsible for every clinical decision you make;
8. you will not submit real patient information;
9. you will contact local emergency services in an emergency rather than using the Platform.
